Meet The Parents

The father of this litter, Devil Von Junipera, is a son of the stunning European stud Xano Earl Antonius, and grandson of TK's Gladiator and Vico Von Der Maxi Rott. This impressive pedigree brings together some of the finest Rottweiler bloodlines in Europe. The mother, Esmee Von Junipera, is the daughter of the renowned Champion Michael Corleone Von Hause Leroy and granddaughter of Edge Vom Carrabba Haus. We are incredibly excited to see how this beautiful bloodline develops through this exceptional breeding.

Pregnancy

Congratulations to Devil and Esmee on a successful breeding! Esmee has carried her pregnancy beautifully, as shown in the photo. This is Esmee’s first breeding and first pregnancy. She gained weight steadily and as expected, remaining healthy throughout. We made sure Esmee was kept comfortable and stress-free. Overall, it was a smooth and successful experience and we are thrilled to see the arrival of these stunning Rottweiler puppies, the result of an exceptional bloodline combination.

Delivery Day

Congratulations to Esmee and all of our DKV families! We’re thrilled to announce the successful delivery of Esmee’s first litter, 5 handsome boys and 3 beautiful girls. While Esmee was understandably a bit uncertain throughout her first pregnancy, the delivery went smoothly, though it took some time. What brings us the most joy is witnessing her strong maternal instincts already taking over. She’s been showing wonderful attachment to her newborn puppies, and it’s been heartwarming to watch. We’re excited to see these Rottweiler babies grow and can’t wait to share this journey with you all!

Week 1 Update

Hello DKV family! We are thrilled to announce that Esmee delivered a healthy litter of 8 beautiful Rottweiler puppies, 5 males and 3 females. The delivery went smoothly, and Esmee did exceptionally well, especially for this being her very first litter. We're incredibly proud of her!

As with every new litter, Angel devotes his full attention to the newborns during this critical first week. He sets his alarm every two hours to check that the puppies are nursing and staying close to Esmee. With new mamas, it's especially important to monitor things closely - they're still learning how delicate their babies are. To help with this, Angel sets up a camera and keeps an eagle eye on the whelping box 24/7. I always joke that he's not allowed to take phone calls during this week because sleep deprivation can make him a little grouchy! But truthfully, it's that level of care and commitment that gives our DKV families peace of mind.

Esmee’s motherly instincts have truly kicked in, and she's already proving to be a phenomenal mom. She’s attentive, gentle, and cautious. It’s so sweet to watch her gently nudge a wandering pup back into place with her nose or quietly whine when one strays a little too far. Her concern and care have been amazing to witness.

For those who may not know, newborn puppies are born with their eyes and ears sealed shut, meaning they cannot yet see or hear. They also can’t regulate their own body temperature, which is why staying close to mama, and having a watchful breeder, is essential during these early days.

We’re happy to report that the puppies are thriving. They’ve already doubled in size in just one week, a clear sign that they're nursing well and being well cared for. At this stage, their days consist of sleeping and nursing, and we’re careful not to handle them more than necessary. Esmee is doing such a great job, and we’re letting her take the lead as she continues to bond with her babies.

We’ll be back next week with more updates. Until then, thank you for following along and being part of the DKV family!

Week 2 Update

Hello DKV Family! We’re back with an update on Esmee and her litter of 8 puppies. We're pleased to report that the puppies are continuing to grow and thrive, and we’ve had a smooth and calm week as they settle into their routine.

Growth & Development - The puppies are doing wonderfully. They are becoming more proficient at finding their mama to nurse, and Esmee continues to be a dedicated and attentive mother. At the end of Week 1, their tails were docked, and the puppies did perfectly. Their growth continues steadily, and they remain strong and healthy.

Esmee’s Motherly Instincts - Esmee has been an exceptional first-time mother. Her instincts are strong, and she is consistently attentive to her puppies' needs. She’s been keeping them close, ensuring they are fed, warm, and comfortable. It's been incredible to watch her bond with her puppies, and we are extremely proud of how well she’s handling motherhood.

Sleep and Rest - The puppies are spending most of their time sleeping and nursing—about 22 hours a day, to be exact! This level of rest is completely normal and essential for their growth and development. During their waking moments, they’re either nursing or starting to show brief periods of movement.

Eyes & Ears - At this stage, the puppies’ eyes and ears are still sealed, but we expect them to start opening in the coming days. This is an exciting milestone, and we’re looking forward to seeing them begin to interact with their environment.

Next week, we’ll be sure to share updated photos as the puppies’ eyes open and they start to become more aware of the world around them. Thank you for your continued support and for following along with us during these early weeks. We’re so grateful to have you as part of our DKV family!

Week 3 Update

Hello DKV Family! We’re back with a Week 3 update on Esmee and her puppies. Mama continues to do exceptionally well, and the puppies are thriving. They are nursing very effectively, and it’s clear they could benefit from a bit of extra food, as Esmee can only provide so much on her own.

Introducing Puppy Milkshakes - To ensure the puppies stay satisfied throughout the day, Angel will be introducing puppy “milkshakes” this week. These are a blended version of their kibble, designed to supplement mama’s milk while still keeping nursing the primary source of nutrition. This will help the puppies get the extra nourishment they need as they continue to grow rapidly.

Eyes, Ears & Curiosity - All of the puppies’ eyes and ears are now open, and they’re beginning to show curiosity about their surroundings. While they aren’t ready to explore on their own yet, they’ll lift their heads when they hear something new and often move together as a group to investigate. It’s always entertaining to watch, and it’s a clear reminder that puppies all progress through the same developmental stages.

Growing Independence - With their bodies developing and their ability to regulate their temperature improving, the puppies are starting to wander slightly further from mama. They enjoy spreading out a bit more, especially in the cool AC, while still staying close enough to feel safe. It’s wonderful to see their personalities begin to emerge as they gain confidence in their environment.

New photos will be taken today, and we hope to have them posted by the end of the day. We can’t wait to share how much the puppies have grown since last week!

Same place, same time next week for another update on Esmee and her growing litter.

Week 4 Update

Hello DKV Family! We’re back with a Week 4 update on Esmee and her puppies. Mama continues to shine in her role — she is such a natural and truly enjoys caring for her babies. The puppies are developing beautifully and have hit some fun new milestones this week.

Growing Stronger Every Day – The puppies are now becoming little pros at walking and even attempting to run (with the occasional stumble!). Their appetites are excellent, and Angel has introduced the famous “puppy milkshakes” to help keep them satisfied in between nursing sessions with mom. This added boost is doing its job, and the puppies are thriving.

Playtime Begins – The litter is officially playful! They’ve started pawing at each other, nibbling on ears, and tumbling around. Right now, it’s all in slow motion and very gentle — which is adorable to watch. We know in another couple of weeks they’ll be wrestling like teenagers, so we’re enjoying the sweetness while it lasts.

Gentle Like Their Mama – Esmee’s kind and gentle personality is shining through in her puppies. They love being picked up, and instead of fussing or barking, they simply look at us as if to say, “Come give me some love.” They are exceptionally sweet and such a joy to hold.

Curious & Observant – The puppies are showing more awareness of their surroundings every day. They’re responding to new sounds, lifting their little heads when they hear something different, and love watching everything we do. Their curiosity is blossoming, and it’s exciting to see their personalities beginning to emerge.

Photos Coming Next Week – We’ll be taking new photos soon, so you’ll be able to see just how much they’ve grown. Stay tuned — these pups are changing quickly!

That’s it for this week’s update. Same place, same time next week for another look at Esmee and her growing litter.

Week 5 Update

Hello, DKV family! We’re back with another update on Esmee and her beautiful litter, now five weeks old. The puppies are growing strong and active, and it’s been such a joy to watch their little personalities blossom.

Playtime & Toys – This week, the puppies really discovered the fun of play. The puppies still sleep most of the day, but when they are all awake, they wrestle and tumble with each other, filling the room with energy. We introduced toys for the first time, and at first the pups just sat and stared at them, unsure of what to do. But within a few hours, they were pouncing, chewing, and tugging away. It never fails to amaze us how every litter reacts the same way — and how they’d all rather tug over one toy together than each have their own. It’s always entertaining to watch!

Teething & Mealtime – The puppies’ teeth have come in, and wow, they are sharp! Because of this, we’ve upgraded from the puppy “milkshakes” to softened puppy food. They are eager to chew and are absolutely loving this new stage of mealtime. Esmee still nurses, but the transition to more solid food is well underway.

Mellow & Consistent Personalities – This litter is proving to be especially mellow and consistent. Some pups show a touch more confidence than others, but overall they’re a chill, curious, and affectionate bunch. They are learning to be brave, playful, and very loving little companions — the kind of puppies who want both fun and affection in equal measure.

Extra-Special Photos – Since puppy selections have already been completed, this week’s photos will be extra special for everyone. I’ve taken individual shots of the litter, and I’ll be posting them below. I did get a bit of a late start today, so if all the photos aren’t up by the end of the day, I’ll be sure to have the rest finished tomorrow morning.

That’s it for Week 5! Thank you for following along as we share these special moments with you. Same place, same time next week for another update on Esmee’s growing crew.

Week 6 Update

Hello DKV Family! We’re back with another update on Esmee and her wonderful litter. Six weeks old already — and their personalities are now on full blast!

Playful Energy – The puppies are bursting with personality. They love wrestling with their siblings, especially during the mornings and evenings when their energy is at its peak. While they still sleep a good portion of the day, they’re also awake throughout, happily playing with each other and their toys.

Mealtime & Nursing – The puppies are no longer on “milkshakes” and are enjoying their kibble throughout the day. With a full mouth of sharp little teeth, they’re eager to crunch away! Esmee still nurses her babies, but we’ve begun limiting her time in the whelping box. She doesn’t mind one bit — in fact, she enjoys the breaks. When she does go in, though, it’s a mad dash as the litter bombards her and nurses her dry in under 30 seconds. It’s unbelievable to watch! We’ll begin slowly weaning her off nursing this week.

Temperament & Affection – This litter is incredibly sweet. They’re playful, very mild-tempered, and extremely affectionate. When they hear us coming, they charge to the door, eager to be picked up and showered with love. Their gentle, people-oriented personalities make them an absolute joy to be around.

Vet Visits This Week – This is a big milestone week: the puppies will be visiting the vet for their first full health exams. Each puppy will receive a complete physical (skin, eyes, ears, joints, belly, heart), temperature check, fecal test for worms and parasites, and their very first puppy vaccine. Once we receive the all-clear, we’ll also begin the official paperwork process. I’ll update everyone by email when contracts are ready to go, so you’ll know to expect them. Copies of all health records will also be provided on delivery day.

Looking Ahead – Final photos are scheduled for next week, and you won’t want to miss them! In the meantime, enjoy your week and keep an eye out for emails later this week with vet updates and paperwork details.

Thank you for following along and sharing in this journey with us. Same place, same time next week for another update on Esmee and her growing litter!
