Hello DKV Family!

We’re thrilled to announce the arrival of our newest litter from Camacho von der Korperkraft and Rumi von der Korperkraft. What a special day it has been for everyone here at DKV!

The Signs of Labor

We knew the day had arrived when Rumi began staring at us with those deep, focused eyes, refusing to look away. It’s something our dogs often do to communicate with us, and this was Rumi’s silent way of saying, “Stay close, something is coming.” Even though she was a few days early, we always trust our dogs when they tell us something, and Rumi was clearly letting us know her time had come.

The Delivery

Her delivery lasted about six hours, and she handled it with quiet strength and grace. Each puppy was delivered calmly, and Rumi allowed Angel to assist with every one. She was patient, trusting, and steady throughout the process. By the time the last puppy arrived, she was understandably tired but content, having safely brought seven beautiful puppies into the world — four males and three females.

A Proud Moment

Overall, this was a smooth and successful delivery, and we couldn’t be more proud of Rumi. She did a wonderful job and has already begun bonding closely with her puppies. Both mama and babies are doing great, resting comfortably and adjusting to their new routine.

Week 1 Update

Hello DKV Family!

We’re excited to share our first weekly update for Rumi and her beautiful litter of seven puppies — four males and three females. It’s been a wonderful first week, and both mama and babies are doing fantastic.

Rumi’s First Week as a Mother

This is Rumi’s very first litter, and she has done an amazing job. From the moment her puppies arrived, she instinctively knew what to do. She’s gentle, attentive, and completely devoted to her little ones. It’s clear she enjoys being a mother, and she’s taken to her new role with confidence and care. Watching her settle in so naturally has been incredibly rewarding.

A Peaceful and Simple Routine

The first week is always quiet as the puppies adjust to life outside the womb. Their tiny bodies are still developing, and they spend the majority of their time sleeping and nursing. Newborn puppies sleep more than 22 hours a day, waking only long enough to nurse before curling back up together to rest. At this stage, all of our focus is on keeping them warm, fed, and comfortable.

Feeding happens every three hours, and Rumi is keeping up beautifully with her milk supply. She’s attentive during every feeding, carefully positioning herself and making sure each puppy gets their turn. Her patience and nurturing nature make her a natural mother.

Growing Stronger Each Day

The puppies are thriving — strong, healthy, and steadily gaining weight. Their little bellies stay full, their coats are shiny, and their movements are already showing signs of strength. For now, there isn’t much activity in the whelping box beyond sleeping, nursing, and snuggling close to mom, but everything is progressing exactly as it should.

It’s been a calm and successful first week, and we couldn’t be more proud of Rumi. She’s off to a wonderful start as a first-time mother, and her puppies are growing beautifully. We’ll continue to keep you updated as these little ones reach new milestones in the weeks ahead.

Week 2 Update

Hello DKV Family!

We’re back with our two week update for Rumi and her beautiful litter of seven — four males and three females. Everyone is doing great, and the whelping box has settled into a nice, steady rhythm.

Finding Their Routine

Rumi and her puppies have started to settle into a comfortable routine. The puppies eat, sleep, and grow — and that’s pretty much their full-time job right now. Each day feels a little more predictable, and Rumi seems more relaxed and confident in her new role. You can tell she’s beginning to enjoy the flow of motherhood and is completely devoted to her babies.

Keeping an Eye on Everyone

Rumi is a big girl, so we’re constantly checking to make sure every puppy is accounted for. These little ones love to snuggle close, and sometimes we’ll find one tucked under her neck, another under her arm, and maybe one between her legs. She’s very gentle with them, but when she decides to switch sides — and she does that often — we all hold our breath for a second until everyone’s safely back in view. It gives us a few heart-stopping moments here and there, but Rumi just looks at us like, “Relax, I know what I’m doing.” She’s handling it all like a pro.

Growing and Thriving

The puppies are doing exactly what they should be at this age — sleeping, nursing, and growing. They’re healthy, round, and full of milk. Their coats are shiny, and their bellies are full. Rumi’s milk supply is perfect, and she continues to take wonderful care of her litter. It’s been a quiet, smooth week, and everything is going right on schedule.

We’re thrilled with how well Rumi and her babies are doing. She’s settling beautifully into motherhood, and her puppies are thriving under her care. We couldn’t ask for a better start to this litter’s journey.
